If you love gin & tonics in the summertime, this spicier winter version will hit the spot in these winter months. The addition of Domain de Canton ginger liqueur gives it an extra kick. Plus, using both ginger ale and tonic water ups the spiciness factor. Be sure to use quality ingredients for the best result. I love Regatta Craft Mixers because they have a full line-up: tonic water, soda water, ginger ale, ginger beer, and even some low-calories options.
WINTER GIN TONICA
1/ 3/4 oz. McQueen & the Violet Fog gin (or your gin of choice, but this is a good one)
2 1/2 oz. tonic water
2 1/2 oz. ginger ale
1 teaspoon ginger liqueur
Chill a glass with ice water. Peel a wide swath of peel from an orange. Stud it with a few whole cloves, then wrap into a spiral. Spear the orange spiral on a cocktail pick, alternating with fresh cranberries. Dump out the ice water from the glass, then add ingredients in the order listed. Swizzle before drinking.
